Ghana’s First contingent leaves Country for Gold Coast Commonwealth Games

First group of the 72 athletes to represent Ghana at this year’s Commonwealth Games to take place in Gold Coast, Australia have left the shores of Accra this afternoon for the big task.

The event which will be the 5th to be hosted by Australia will take place between 4th to 15th April, 2018 and will see 71 Commonwealth Nations participate.

Ghana will have 72 athletes participating in 12 different disciplines as athletes of six of the disciplines who made the first trip today were; Athletics, Amateur Boxing, Cycling, Badminton and the Hockey team is expected to join their colleagues later this evening.

The departure of the other sporting disciplines will continue throughout the week as Swimming is the last team expected to leave Ghana for the competition.
